June Favorites 2014

The month of June has flown by and I've accumulated six favorites for this month!

The first item I have been loving is the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Control System. It is a three part system consisting of a face wash, Toner and Defense Face Lotion. This system has honeslty helped me with my acne as well as keeping my blemishes to a minimum and toning my skin. I would consider my skin to be oily and this system keeps the oil down. To help with my skin stay controlled, I use the system when I wake up and before I go to bed.

The second item I have been loving is the nail polish by Essie, Play Date. This color screams sun to me with its bright lavendar like color. I literally wore this nail polish every day in June.

The third thing I've been loving is actually a song and the song is Simple by Harry Hudson. Harry Hudson is an artist that was diagnosed with cancer and won his fight. He is currently writing songs about his experience going throgh chemo and the process of fighting cancer. Simple is an up lifting song with an uplifiting video.
Here is the link to the YouTube video of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRzakk2aSzI

The fourth thing I have been loving is also a song. This song is by Alli Simpson and it is called Guilty. Alli Simpson is the sister of Cody Simpson and her songs are fun and girly. Guilty is amazing and I would definitley recommend buying the song on iTunes.

The fifth thing I've been loving is Ed Sheeran's new album X (Multiply). Ed Sheeran has always been one of my favorite artist and this album just like Plus is AMAZING. One of my favorite songs on the album is Thinking Out Loud.

The sixth and last thing I have been loving is the movie...wait for it...wait for it: THE FAULT IN OUR STARS! This movie is fantastic. I did read the book and unlike most movies this movie did great justice at staying true to the book. If you haven't seen The Fault In Our Stars or read the book, then you need to. There are many quotes in that book that you will fall in love with. This is one of my favorite quotes:

This includes my June Favorites 2014. I hope you check out all these items, songs, and movies!

Job Hunt Complete

The search for a summer job was one full of many applications, loads of rejections and a few interviews. At last, after a month of searching, I finally have a summer job.

I am working in Fast Food which isn't something I wanted to work in, but Fast Food seem to be the only places that will hire you for a short period of time. Seeing as to the fact that I only have time to work three months before going back to school, I needed a job fast that would give me a good amount of money and a full time work schedule.

Being eighteen, not having a car and living with my parents, the pressure becomes difficult. I obviously don't have enough money to buy a car just yet and like some teenagers, I wasn't given a car as a sweet sixteen gift or graduation gift. That is okay with me however because that means I can save up until I can buy the car I want. Working in fast food is sometimes difficult because you often work a certain time until closing. So most days I don't get home until eleven or twelve. Since my parents would rather drive me to work I have to rely on them to also pick me up. It is sometimes frustrating because they don't like to come out at night but I just try to look at the positive side of the job, which is the money that I need.

Sometimes you have to start at the bottom to make it big at the top. This the motto that I live by when it comes to making my dreams happen. I know that everything won't be handed to me but I will work hard to get it.

June

Today is June first which is the first day of the month that starts the summer season. Not only does the month of June contain the summer solstice, but it also is known for graduations and graduation parties. Graduation is a big deal no matter what country you're from.

I graduated last year, the class of 2013 and I finished my first year of college at the University of Miami (also known as the U) in Coral Gables, Florida. The journey after graduation is one of self discovery and figuring out which path you want your life to go. But this post is not about my experience, but the advice that I want to give to those who have graduated; class of 2014 and future graduates to come.

Graduation is the threshold you go through to get to what is known as the "real world" or "adult world". This is when you really began to figure yourself out. You are also given more responsibilites that may cause a drastic change in your life. Such as: moving out of your parents home, going off to college, going into the military or even just finding a job. The most important amount of advice I can give is to set goals and to give them a time frame to be achieved. Make sure your goals are able to be reached in that given time period.

I have yet to move out of my parents home or go into the military. I have, however, gone off to college and even found a job. My advice for college is to remember the morals your parents taught you. The term Y.O.L.O may come to your mind when you are out with friends or at a party. Just remember that if you aren't comfortable doing something then don't do it. If you are judge for not doing something then those who are judging you aren't worth hanging out with. The most important part of University or College is to learn. This is what you want your career to be, so get as much knowledge as possible. There will always be crazy parties to attend.

When it comes to finding a job, that can sometimes be tough. Especially if you don't have any work experience. If you've volunteered then make sure you put that on the application you are filling out because it counts. Finding a job over the summer is possibly the hardest task, especially if you are going to a school that is out of the state you currently live in. Don't give up though, just apply early and apply to a lot of places. Someone is bound to hire. There may be multiple No's but that one Yes can make a difference.

All in all, stay positive and stay true to yourself as you go on this new journey in life.
